Newark-Area Transit Study
The four transit systems operating in the City of Newark – DART First State, City of Newark, Cecil Transit, and the University of Delaware – along with WILMAPCO, have formed the Newark Transit Improvement Partnership (Newark TrIP) to consolidate and coordinate the systems to be more customer friendly and efficient. The project includes technical analysis and stakeholder outreach. Planners will be seeking feedback from transit riders, business and community groups, and transit drivers to better understand existing services, unmet needs, and opportunities for integration of services. The planning team will also conduct technical analysis of existing and potential transit use to identify ways that transit can better serve the needs of the greater Newark community.
